Drake-Beemont Mutual Insurance Company was organized in 1911 to serve the residents in and around the small towns of Drake and Beemont. In 1911, and for some years afterwards, members were assessed a premium only when a loss occurred. Bills are now sent yearly, biannually or quarterly, based on each policyholder's anniversary date. In 1984, Drake-Beemont rented an office at 310 N. First St. in Owensville, MO that had space for all the records and a boardroom for monthly meetings. An Office Manager was hired and the company purchased its first computer at that time. In January 1993, the office moved to its present location. Drake-Beemont is a MUTUAL insurance company.
